YTT Programs in Rishikesh India
Rishikesh – The very mention of this name excites so many people all over the world. This isn’t a place which boasts of an exotic beach, cannot claim to be a fancy tourist destination, doesn’t have sky scrapers and doesn’t house any wonders of the world. It’s a small town nestled in the northern part of India, so to say an insignificant location. The town itself is very small about 12 square kms. with a small population of 100,000 plus. But it’s a wonder of wonders that hundreds of thousands of people from all over the world throng this year-round tourist destination. And the numbers are increasing by the year.
Why? It offers what no other place in the world can offer. It gives you the urge to start your inner journey. Anyone toeing the line of spirituality would definitely visit Rishikesh at least once. For many it’s a yearly addiction. Let’s try to understand the significance of Rishikesh. In the first place, properly spelt, the name of the town is Hrishikesh. This is one of the names of Lord Vishnu meaning Lord of the Senses. The legent says that Lord Vishnu appeared to Raibhya Rishi, as a result of his severe austerities, as “Hrishikesha”. Probably that is the significance of this place. All our miseries are because of the lack of mastery of our senses. The Lord appearing as the Lord of Senses in this place is very significant and people visiting this place feel a sense of calmness and peace and become aware of the vagaries of the senses.
Another very significant thing about Rishikesh is the perennial Ganga flowing through it in it’s purest form. Much has been said and written about this divine river and there would probably be only a miniscule percentage of the world population who haven’t heard of or read about Ganga. Beside the Ganga, towering over humanity is the majestic Himalayan range of mountains. The beauty of viewing the Ganga and the Himalayan range together is unmatched. It has to be experienced to believe it.
There are umpteen number of temples and ashram all over Rishikesh.
Rishikesh is also known as the Yoga Capital of India.
There are many yoga schools in Rishikesh offering general yoga courses and 200 hour yoga teacher training courses ( ytt in rishikesh ), 300 hour yoga teacher training courses ( ytt program in rishikesh ) and 500 hour yoga teacher training courses and most of the schools are affiliated to YOGA ALLIANCE, USA.
Besides these Rishikesh offers other tourist attractions like white water rafting, jungle safari, trekking, rock climbing, rappelling, kayaking, etc.
